The Challenge

I joined Monarch Tractor when it was a budding startup with just a handful of employees. We set out to build an all–electric smart tractor that can perform manual and autonomous operations.

The company grew fast, and I wore many hats over the years to make that possible. In January 2023 the MK-V went to market, and the smart tractors were delivered to customers across the country, with over 300 operating tractors on farms by 2024.

Working closely with team members across departments, we established work processes to ensure efficiency and accountability. As the company grew, we adjusted our processes for scalability.

My Team

Leading the Product Design team was the most rewarding for me. I strove to foster a collaborative and edifying work environment where we could help each other build products we could be proud of.

My team was green, but eager to learn. I helped them grow their skills through iteration and approach designs critically through regular group critiques. I made sure we were working towards their professional goals, while encouraging them to hone new skills. Retrospectives after big projects helped us celebrate our wins and learn from our mistakes.

Personal Growth

My time at Monarch Tractor was a great growth experience for my career. The restrictions of tight budgets and short timelines, paired with rapid growth, has been a crash course that’s helped me hone important skills in leadership, business, and strategy.
